Our recommendation for testing the Volvo is: towards the south! Put the blinker on the right at the crossroads at Sils-Baselgia if your destination is Poschiavo or on the left if you want to go to Soglio.
If you want to go to Poschiavo, use the mountain railway ticket to make a stop at Diavolezza. Once at the top, enjoy the breathtaking panorama, take a hike and have a bite to eat on the terrace of the mountain restaurant. The subsequent stretch over the Bernina Pass is perfect for testing the Volvo. Once you arrive in Poschiavo, the gelato in the piazza will tempt you, perhaps you will continue on to the lake, take a short dive, and then tackle the return journey to Sils.
If, on the other hand, you want to pay a visit to one of the most beautiful villages in Switzerland, choose the Bergell variant. From Maloja, the pass leads down into the valley, which is flanked by granite mountains on the left and right. In Soglio, the threshold to paradise, as Segantini called it, it is worth strolling through the narrow streets. Treat yourself to a slice of chestnut cake on one of the terraces or in the garden of Palazzo Salis before heading back to the hotel, where dinner will round off the day perfectly.
